One Day On earth is a collaborative documentary to be shot by hundreds of filmmakers around the world on October 10, 2010.

Across the planet documentary filmmakers, students, and inspired citizens will record the human experience over a 24-hour period. By participating in this historic event you will help capture the diversity of experiences of life on this planet. Together we will create a document that is a gift to the world.

I'm very excited to take part in the project and was delighted when Daniel Lichtblau asked me to be one of the featured participants on their blog. We conducted a brief interview by email and the post is now live on onedayonearth.org.

Why is this important to you?
I guess we?re all grasping to make sense of the myriad of realities surrounding us. I sleep better at night if I?ve taken a good photo or shot an interesting video that day!

Profile Spotlight 10.10.10

This project has a lot in common with Frank Kelly's 140 project, which I took part in last year and will be released soon. Daniel hasn't set any time restraints however. There's going to be a huge mountain of footage gathered on 10.10.10; the editing process is sure to be overwhelming; my part should be considerably easier.

There are currently 420 participants registered in 110 different countries. If this sounds like your idea of fun, I recommend you sign up to participate now.

Just noticed there's a great trailer for the project at http://onedayonearth.org/odoe_vid.php ? if that doesn't get you excited? well then it's just not for you: )

Well executed shot Oisin. Surprised to see both your reflection and the photos behind it so clearly. Nice work.
