Five years ago I lived at 516 Collins Avenue in Santry, Dublin.
I shared the house with Fergal Cunningham, Chris Flynn and Michael Higgins.
It was our fourth year in DCU. We would spend days and nights on end playing Pro Evolution Soccer on the Playstation, organising very serious tournaments between ourselves, oblivious to impending project deadlines and the boredom and frustration we inflicted upon our girlfriends and other visitors.

It was a significant year, during which great friendships were cemented and we formed a shared identity around the house, and the number.
After university we decided to form a company, under which we could apply for funding to produce short films together. Fivesixteen Limited was born. The legal structure proved to be of little necessity to us over the next couple of years but we did produce films together and established Film Knight, an informal movie screening with an entrance fee of one short film.
When I conceived the notion of maintaining a daily photoblog for a defined but seemingly arbitrary period of time, there was only one number that could be attached to the project with sincere conviction.
So I journey on towards Day 516 and its personal significance.
