Jimmy the Man has a dream. He wants to run a tour company in his home city of Granada, Nicaragua.
The Solotrekkers Foundation is helping Jimmy realise this dream. Funding from the Dutch government's international development budget, and donations from supporters following the project online, are giving Jimmy the backing he needs to establish his business in Granada.
I'm intrigued by opportunities for crowd-sourced funding offered by sites like Kickstarter and love what Daan and Jaap from Solotrekkers are doing to promote this project online.
As I set out today on my cycle around Nicaragua, I took a t-shirt with me and a commitment to help spread the word about Jimmy the Man.
You can help Jimmy become self-employed by donating through PifWorld or check other donation options on Jimmy's site.
